A Yellow Notebook That Became a Website
A list of the most amazing places on earth, and the site it grew into.
showmetheworld.tours started as a list in a yellow notebook. A hundred places, written down over a few winters.
From a Notebook to a Website
The notebook became a spreadsheet, the spreadsheet became a blog, and the blog became this site. The method never changed. Read the reviews, compare the options, talk to the local suppliers, and keep only the handful of experiences that are genuinely worth your day. We work with the best local operators in each destination, check that every tour meets the standard we would expect ourselves, and explain in plain language why it made the cut.
Every destination page on this site is built the same way that first list was. We look at what travelers actually rate highest, we leave out the ones that only look good in photographs, and we write the guides we wish we had been able to read before setting off.
Where We Are Now
Today showmetheworld.tours is a small team working between Europe and Asia, with the yellow notebook still on the desk. Some of its places are still unticked, and every year a few of them get crossed off and turned into new pages here.
The Story of the Yellow Notebook
Four chapters, one notebook. Scroll and they appear.

A hundred places written down over a few winters, one yellow notebook, one rule. See them all in a single trip.

Place by place the list got ticked, and the pages in between filled up with notes on which tours were worth the money.

Which guide was worth it, which day trip was not. Shared with friends first, then with anyone who asked.

A small team between Europe and Asia now does what the notebook did. Read, compare, keep the best, explain why.
What We Still Do the Hard Way
Three habits from the road that have not changed.
Every experience on this site has a rating travelers gave it, and we only list the ones they keep coming back to.
Destinations get revisited, guides get rewritten, and listings that slip get removed. A place is never finished.
One clear page per place, honest prices and free cancellation on most bookings.
The List Is Still Open
The yellow notebook had a hundred places in it. Some we have been to a dozen times now, some are still waiting. The site grows the same way the list did, one destination at a time, and every guide starts with the same question. Is this worth your day?
Where Will You Go First?
Pick a destination and we will show you what travelers rate highest there.
