Ushuaia Boat Trips and End of the World Tours

The national park, the Beagle Channel and the penguins, by traveler rating.

Tierra del Fuego National Park

The national park and End of the World train tour is the most booked activity in Ushuaia: the narrow-gauge steam train into the park, then the lakes and the end of the Pan-American Highway. The version with optional train and the longer combination with the Beagle Channel cruise let you fit the park into a single day with the water.

The Beagle Channel

The Beagle Channel catamaran cruise sails past the sea lion colonies and the Les Eclaireurs lighthouse in three hours and is the easiest half day from the port. The combined tour with the park adds the cruise to the afternoon.

Penguins on Martillo Island

From October to March the catamaran sailings to Penguin Island reach the Magellanic colony; the penguin watching tour by catamaran and the Beagle Channel and Penguin Island cruise are the two main routes, both around five hours.

The Emerald Lagoon Trek

The Emerald Lagoon trekking tour is the highest-rated day on this page, six hours in a small group to a glacial lake above the treeline. Weather changes fast at the end of the world; pack layers for every tour. Most tours cancel free up to 24 hours before.
