Toronto Tours, Harbor Cruises and Niagara Day Trips

Niagara day trips and harbor cruises, ranked by what travelers book most.

Niagara Falls from Toronto

Niagara is ninety minutes away and the day trip is the most booked activity in Canada. The top-rated version includes the boat ride to the base of the Horseshoe Falls and the Journey Behind the Falls tunnels; the winery version adds a stop in Niagara-on-the-Lake with a tasting, and the day-and-evening tour stays for the illumination after dark.

The Harbor and the Islands

The one-hour harbor and islands cruise gives the postcard skyline from the water and is the easiest thing to add to a first afternoon. The premium cruise adds lunch, brunch or dinner, and the helicopter tour covers the lakefront and downtown in about fifteen minutes.

CN Tower and City Passes

The Toronto CityPASS bundles the CN Tower with the aquarium, the ROM and other main sights over nine days, which pays off if you plan three or more. For something beyond the city, the Algonquin Park day trip gets you into canoe country and past Ragged Falls in a small group.

Falls Season and Lake Weather

The Niagara boats run from spring to late fall; in winter the tours still go but the boat ride is replaced by other stops. Toronto summers are warm and lake breezes make cruises pleasant, so book weekend sailings a few days ahead. Most tours cancel free up to 24 hours before.
