Things To Do in Seville

Alcázar and cathedral tours, flamenco, tapas and day trips, ranked by traveler ratings.

The Alcázar and the Cathedral

Seville's royal palace, the Real Alcázar, is a Moorish-style complex still used by the Spanish royal family, and its timed tickets run out early. The three-hour skip-the-line tour covers the Alcázar, the cathedral and the Giralda tower together and is the most booked experience in the city; the small-group Alcázar tour goes deeper into the palace alone. Independent visitors can take the cathedral and Giralda entry ticket and climb the ramps of the former minaret for the view.

Flamenco and Tapas

Flamenco was born in the neighborhoods of Seville, and Tablao Los Gallos in Santa Cruz has run shows with eight artists every night since 1966. Pair it with the tapas, taverns and history walking tour, which stops in bars the guides grew up with, or the Jewish Quarter walking tour through the lanes of Santa Cruz.

By Bike and Beyond

Seville is flat and the electric bike tour reaches the Plaza de España, the María Luisa park, Triana and the riverbank in two and a half hours. For a day out of town, the three-destination trip goes to Córdoba's Mezquita, a white village and the gorge-top town of Ronda in one long day.

Practical Notes

Seville is among the hottest cities in Europe in July and August, when tours start early and locals rest in the afternoon. Spring, especially the April Fair and Holy Week, is the busiest season and needs advance booking. Most tours offer free cancellation up to 24 hours ahead.
